Conservation Tasks
Following the closure In the first few months of 2017, the team came to work regularly in Sinfin, clearing back hedgerows and laying them as well as clearing hawthorns to make open areas in the 'balancing pond'. All this is in preparation for cattle coming on site in late summer/autumn as part of the Higher Level Stewardship scheme. Fencing and cattle handling facitilities have also been installed by contractors. If you take a walk down the lane, you will see a big transformation! The full programme of tasks organised by DPV can be obtained from the contact phone numbers below. Tasks normally take place every Tuesday and Wednesday. New volunteers are always welcome. It's a lot of fun and there's a good team spirit. What's more, it's good exercise in the fresh air, whilst doing your bit to help the natural environment. Don't worry if you can't come every week. __ To take part just turn up at the designated meeting point with a packed lunch, suitable clothing and sturdy boots. Gloves and hot and cold drinks are supplied. Starting time is 10 am, finishing around 2.30-3.00pm. For further information contact any of the following,
